Candy Cascade
The pitch
Candy Cascade is a classic match-3 puzzle about sweets. Swap neighbouring candies, line up three or more and complete the level goal within the moves you are given. 100 levels with different tasks: collect candies of one colour, break the ice, smash the crates. Longer lines give special candies: four in a row make a rocket, a cross-shaped match makes a bomb, five in a row make a rainbow candy that removes every sweet of one colour. When moves run short, the hammer, rocket and shuffle boosters help. Daily quests, a leaderboard and three languages.
Controls & how it runs
Tap a candy and drag it towards a neighbour - the two swap places. The move only counts if it forms a line of three or more identical sweets: they disappear, the candies above fall down and may form new lines. The goal and the moves left are shown at the top; finish the goal before the moves run out to complete the level. Four in a row make a rocket, a cross-shaped match makes a bomb, five in a row make a rainbow candy; swap two special candies to fire them together. Ice holds a candy in place but still counts in a match, crates never join a match, locks open when you finish the goal for their colour. Boosters at the bottom: hammer, rocket, shuffle - restock them with gold or by watching an ad. Mouse or touch only, no keyboard required.
Getting a run going takes exactly one press: Press start, up top, and the game boots inside this page — nothing downloads in the background and no form wants your details before the first jump. The cabinet is drawn for a portrait (upright) screen and listens to mouse, keyboard or touch, whichever the game prefers. This cabinet stands tall: it was built for portrait screens, so a phone held upright gives it the frame it wants — though it will squeeze politely into any window. Given a fullscreen button, use it — scores look better at full size, that's just science.
Candy Cascade — quick-fire questions
Does Candy Cascade cost anything to play?
Not a token. The cabinet is free from the first run to the five-hundredth — no wallet, no sign-up, no toll booth hiding three levels in. The adverts around the page are what keep the floor's lights on.
What sort of game is Candy Cascade?
It stands on our Matching row — that's the family it plays most like. The pitch above is the publisher's own rundown of what it throws at you and what it hands back.
Can I play Candy Cascade on my phone?
Happily, yes. It runs inside the browser on phones and tablets the same way it does on a computer. This cabinet stands tall: it was built for portrait screens, so a phone held upright gives it the frame it wants — though it will squeeze politely into any window.
Do I need to install anything first?
Nothing whatsoever. Candy Cascade is an HTML5 game: hit the start button and it boots on this page, and shutting the tab sweeps the cabinet clean behind you.
